The coach of the Colombian soccer Jose Pekerman that Colombia is one of the favorites to win the Copa America championship which starts on 11 of this month in Chile.
Pekerman said at a news conference Friday from the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires where held training camp in preparation for the tournament which runs until the Fourth of July, "we do not see it as a duty on us, but yes we are favorites because we have the majority of players who fought the World Cup."
"This team, which is mainly owned, used to be a star, you must continue to compete for the top spots."
With regard to a friendly game that Colombia is waging today against Costa Rica, Pekerman said that "the opponent made a very good performance recently," although an important game because they are the only preparation for the Copa America.
However, he stressed that it would be "extremely difficult" to any team win the championship due to "the evolution of all the teams in the continent," recently.
Pekerman and ended his speech saying, "We are looking for balance, all the teams engaged in the tournament in good condition. Everyone knows that he is their responsibility to go away and try to win, Cuba, America."
